Heartwarming Viral Thread About A Cat Dad Stepping Up And Taking Care Of His Kittens After The Mom Tragically Passes

Every once in a while, we come across a story about cats being so friendly and so loving that we are truly baffled by some people thinking that they're aloof an unfeeling. Cats are so sweet and so protective of cubs and kittens that, sometimes, they will even adopt and take care of another animal's babies. The most common version of that, of course, is stray cats adopting kittens that are not their own and raising them as if they are. Then, there are the rarer stories like the one about the momma cat who adopted a puppy into her litter or the iconic story about the cat who adopted a lynx cub and raised it alongside her own kitten. 

But it's always mom cats doing it. Mom cats with their motherly instincts. It's much, much rarer to see a father cat take over - probably because the moms are always around. Here, in today's story, unfortunately, the mother is not in the picture anymore, but the dad - wow - the dad stepped up to the plate and is the best cat dad in the world.

The kittens were 4 weeks when they lost their mama and even though he was heartbroken, he immediately began taking care of them. He groomed them, stayed with them, played with them, taught them to use the litter and cuddled them. To this day (they are about 12 weeks old now) he still grooms them and cuddles them and comes anytime they meow. He is so loving toward them that when they venture over to his food dish WHILE h

My parents inherited such a sweet boy cat (it just moved in, in that magical way) and my mum had these little pound puppy toys from when I was a kid. He would carry them around, clean them, fuss over them. He'd drag blankets around the house. When they were moving house he dragged his bed to where all the boxes were.
